As I watched last weeks Great British Bake Off, I saw them making Palmiers and I thought that it would be complicated, but in fact, they’re the easiest thing ever. The hard bit – making your own puff pastry. So I made an executive decision to not make my own! We’re busy Mamas, right, and none more so than this Mama. So I cheated and bought some ready rolled puff pastry. It’s always handy to have some in the freezer too. I wanted to make something that the children would like to eat as a snack or as part of lunch, so I came up with these Pizza flavour Palmiers and they turned out rather yummy, they taste just like a margherita pizza, with yummy flaky pastry. They take minutes to prepare and not long to cook so they’re perfect to whip up quickly and feel like the domestic goddess you truly are. I had a bit of help from Daniel, he loved spreading the cheese (and eating some too). We used Wyke Farm’s extra mature cheddar, but you can use any cheddar or hard cheese.
